From our inspections

What mechanical faults look like in infrared

Mechanical problems show up as heat. A failing bearing, a dragging conveyor idler, a misaligned coupling or an overloaded motor runs hotter than the same component beside it. We scan rotating equipment while it runs, compare like with like, and follow up with ultrasound or vibration where the heat pattern needs a second opinion.

Mechanical condition monitoring

Inspect mechanical equipment with infrared, ultrasound and vibration

Check motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, fans and conveyors under normal operating conditions. Thermal images, ultrasound readings and vibration measurements help locate developing faults and target follow-up work.

Each method adds a different view of equipment condition. Combining the findings helps your maintenance team decide what needs attention and track changes between inspections.

Infrared thermography

Compare heat patterns on motor housings, bearings, couplings and process equipment. Unusual temperatures can highlight friction, overheating or a change from the equipment’s normal condition.

Ultrasound inspection

Listen for high-frequency sound associated with bearing friction, lubrication issues and impacting. Ultrasound also helps investigate compressed-air leaks and steam-trap performance.

Vibration analysis

Assess rotating equipment for signs of imbalance, misalignment, looseness and bearing wear. Repeat measurements help track condition and guide further investigation.
